High School Credit (HSC)

The Murphy Centre, at our Prince Philip Drive location, offers the high school credit program as per the requirements of the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Applicants must be 18 years of age and out of school for 6 months (unless a direct referral from District School). Participants of this program receive their transcripts and diplomas from this department. In some cases, participants have already met graduation requirements but are upgrading specific course grades or upgrading from the general to the academic level.

There are two levels of programming offered at The Murphy Centre:

  • Academic Diploma:  The academic program is intended for participants planning to pursue post-secondary education at the university and college level.
  • General Diploma:  The general program is intended for participants interested in most trades or for direct entry into the workforce.

The Murphy Centre encourages participants to enroll in the most appropriate and challenging program to meet their career goals. We will provide, to the best of our ability, the necessary learning accommodations for documented exceptionalities.  However, we do not offer any modified courses/curriculum.

There is a $20 fee per semester.
