ACCESS to Learning

With funding from the Department of Education, the Murphy Centre offers free foundational literacy, numeracy, digital literacy, and life skills programming for adults in St. John’s, Gander, Corner Brook, and Happy Valley-Goose Bay

Integrated partnerships with The Gathering Place in St. John’s, the Salvation Army in Gander, the Vine Place Community Centre in Corner Brook, and the Labrador Friendship Centre in Happy Valley-Goose Bay support ACCESS to Learning through the provision of space and/or promotion and recruitment efforts.

The Literacy Program offers individual and/or group instruction in:

  • Foundational literacy and numeracy
  • Digital literacy
  • Life skills

All ACCESS to Learning programs are open to any adult over 19.

Participating in the Literacy Program is free, and in-take is continuous.
